Privacy Policy

Last Updated: June 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how BreakLoop (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the BreakLoop mobile application (“the App”). BreakLoop is developed and operated by Mete Arıkan, an individual operating under the trade name “Metari Studios” (“Developer”). We designed BreakLoop to work without a user account, and the large majority of your data never leaves your device.

1. Information We Collect

Activity Data (Local): Step counts (via your device’s pedometer / Core Motion sensor) and push-up repetitions (via on-device pose detection using your front camera) are processed and stored locally on your device. Camera frames used for push-up detection are analyzed in real time, on your device only — no video, image, or audio is ever recorded, saved, or transmitted anywhere, by us or by any third party.

App Usage Data (Local): To provide the app-blocking feature, BreakLoop reads which app is in the foreground on your device (Android: via the Usage Access permission) or relies on Apple’s Screen Time API (iOS), so it knows when to display the block screen. This data, along with your Minutes, FP, Tier, Streak, and exercise history, is stored locally on your device in an app-private database and is never transmitted to us.

Device & Advertising Data (shared with Google): If you use ad-supported features (such as Daily Ad Rewards) or are shown advertising elsewhere in the App, our advertising provider, Google AdMob, automatically collects data including your IP address, device and advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID or, where permitted, Apple’s IDFA), app interaction events, and diagnostic information, for the purposes of serving ads, measuring ad performance, and preventing fraud. This processing is governed by Google’s own privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

Diagnostic Data (shared with Google Firebase): We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand aggregate, anonymized app usage and crash reports, so we can fix bugs and improve the App. This data is not linked to your name, email, or any other directly identifying information, since BreakLoop has no account system.

Information You Provide Directly: If you contact us for support (for example, via the “Send Feedback” option), we receive whatever information you choose to include in that message, such as your email address, through your own device’s email client.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to: operate and maintain the App’s core features (step tracking, app blocking, Tiers, Streaks); display and measure advertising; diagnose and fix technical issues; and respond to support requests. We do not use your data to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects on you.

3. Advertising & Your Choices

All advertising in BreakLoop is shown through Google AdMob and is always optional and user-initiated — ads only appear when you choose to tap a “Watch Ad” button to earn extra Minutes (Daily Ad Rewards). BreakLoop does not show ads you did not ask to see.

We do not operate our own consent-collection tool for ad personalization. For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, this means Google’s own advertising policy automatically limits BreakLoop to non-personalized “Limited Ads”: no advertising identifiers or cookies are used, and ads are delivered using only general, non-personal signals (such as approximate location from IP address, for fraud prevention and basic ad delivery). Outside those regions, ads may be personalized using your device’s advertising identifier by default, consistent with Google’s standard AdMob behavior.

You can always reset or limit your device’s advertising identifier — which restricts how any app, including BreakLoop, can personalize ads to you — from your device’s system settings (Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking). If you are a California resident or otherwise have a legal right to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for advertising purposes, this same device-level setting accomplishes that for BreakLoop.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with: (a) Google, as described in Section 1(c) and 1(d) above, acting as an independent controller for advertising and as our processor for Firebase diagnostics; and (b) law enforcement or other parties when required by law, to protect our rights, or to protect the safety of any person. We do not share your data with data brokers or for cross-context behavioral advertising beyond what is described above.

5. Children’s Privacy

BreakLoop is a general-audience app and is not directed at, nor primarily intended for, children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@breakloop.app so we can address it. Consistent with our Terms of Service, BreakLoop’s minimum age to use the App is 16 (or the age of digital consent in your country, if higher).

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to: access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you; object to or restrict certain processing; receive a copy of your data in a portable format; and, for California residents, know what categories of personal information we collect and opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (we do not sell personal information).

Because nearly all of your BreakLoop data lives only on your device, you can exercise most of these rights directly and instantly using the “Delete All Data” option in Settings → Data Management, which permanently erases your local statistics, history, and settings. For data processed by Google on our behalf, you can also exercise your rights directly with Google at myaccount.google.com/data-and-privacy. For any other request, contact us at support@breakloop.app.

7. Data Retention

Local data (your steps, Minutes, FP, Tier history, and settings) is retained on your device until you delete it yourself, uninstall the App, or use “Delete All Data.” Aggregated, anonymized diagnostic data processed via Firebase is retained according to Google’s standard Firebase retention settings.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect the data described in this Policy, including storing local data in your device’s app-private storage and relying on industry-standard encryption-in-transit (TLS) for any data sent to Google’s services. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. International Data Transfers

If you are located outside the United States, information processed by our third-party providers (Google AdMob, Firebase) may be transferred to and processed in the United States or other countries where Google operates, under Google’s published data protection terms and standard contractual clauses where applicable.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last Updated” date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the App.
